Boardmasters Festival
Brief:
To consult, plan, film and edit a large series of content pieces for Boardmasters Festival 2024 to cover social, web, YouTube and onsite screens.
Planning:
Boardmasters Festival approached us in the spring of 2024 having seen our work on other festival projects such as Rise Festival. They wanted us to bring our skill and expertise in managing large teams of creatives working across multiple pillars of content into their setup for one of the largest greenfield site festivals in the UK.
We began by analysing their customer profile, marketing strategy and previous content to understand what had been done in the past and what changes we could bring to the table. We developed a strategy to cover short, medium and long term content to cover different stages of the marketing funnel.
We set up a team of 14 crew to cover social creative, UGC/Lofi, high-end aftermovie and live performances. This included a mixture of vertical first and landscape first filming dependent on the primary output platform.
Aftermovie Creative:
This year we wanted to really lift the cinematic quality of the aftermovie through various routes. We shot a lot of the storyline using anamorphic lenses. In addition, we wanted to showcase some of the moments not usually scene at the festival, such as the adventure travel element, surfing, campsite lifestyle and peaceful moments of being by the sea.
Over the week we spent on site we delivered the following:
200+ live performance clips of over 60 artists playing over the week.
5 daily highlight videos.
12 social first vertical creative edits.
25 lofi social trending edits.
5 additional mixed use edits.
3 hyperlapse edits.
3 360 video edits.
2 FPV flythrough drone edits.
1 aftermovie.
Categorised, labelled and colour graded rushes.
In the coming months, we will deliver and additional raft of content pieces to further support the marketing strategy through to the 2025 festival.
